Today I’m sharing a simple weekly cleaning rhythm that I use in my home. Firstly, I wholeheartedly believe rhythm and organization are important aspects of living a calm and contented life. And I have found that having a rhythm to my days creates peace in the home and in my life.
The weekly cleaning rhythm is my guide, but I am still flexible if I need to be. Sometimes there are weeks where I clean everything and some weeks where I’m just doing the bare minimum. But by continuing with the rhythm, cleaning the house stays manageable.
Our families, homes, and schedules are different. And what matters is our heart behind the tasks we are doing and the people we are doing them for. So don’t forget to give yourself grace!
Tip: Keep your rhythm in a place that you see it everyday. I keep mine in my planner.
Why a Cleaning Rhythm is a Good Idea
1. Things stay clean. Maintaining a weekly cleaning rhythm will keep your home relatively clean and tidy most the time.
2. No more frantic cleaning when guests are coming over! This used to happen all the time – we would invite people over and then have to tackle the whole house in one go. Which is almost impossible. But with a cleaning rhythm most of the tasks are already done and you just have to tidy up a bit.
3. Your house will be more comfortable. Part of being a “keeper at home” is creating an environment where our families can thrive. And keeping a tidy home will help your family feel more comfortable. Because when things are organized and clean there is peace in the home.
4. Peace of mind. I always tell my husband – a clean home is a clear mind. And when my home is messy and unorganized I am more stressed out and not really happy. So, hopefully, having a cleaning routine will bring peace and happiness to your home.
