Today I’m sharing the girl’s room that I put together for our move. I kept things very minimal so that the potential buyers could see the space and not the clutter.
The girls don’t share this room yet because they keep each other up at night, but I have had it set up with two beds for a while. I wanted this room to be fun and very girly. My husband and I painted this room pink a couple years ago and we love it! My daughter loves it too and calls it her “princess room”.
This past weekend we went to Ikea to pick up some new textiles for the house to stage the home (they have great textiles at great prices). I’ve had my eye on these buffalo check duvet covers for a while now so I finally bought them.
They are really great because they are buffalo check on one side and a straight gray strip on the other side, which makes it really easy to change the style of the room.
I also picked up some new white pillows to add some more texture. We already owned the pink comforters and I added the ruffle bed skirts when we got the beds.
I had been looking for something to put above the girl’s beds and when I saw these unicorn and bunny heads at Target the other week, I knew they would be the perfect fit.
I think that they make the room feel a little whimsical and add a little “make-believe” (is that a word) ☺ into their room. The curtains are from Ikea as well and then I had my mom sew on some pink pom-pom trim.
When we renovated the bedrooms upstairs we designed this room to have a built-in bookcase. I love this bookcase and try to keep it tidy, but the girls always end up putting all kinds of toys and books in here. ?
To be honest I’m still working on “staging” this area. The hook under the print is from Crate and Barrel and we use it to hang up my daughter’s dresses for Sunday, and at only $8 it’s a super good price and the quality is amazing. The print next to the bookshelf is from Etsy and is framed in an Ikea frame which I bought when my daughter was born.
That’s it for the girl’s room. If we were staying here I would have changed a few things and added a nightstand in between the girl’s beds for their night light and books, but that will have to wait for the next house. I hope you enjoyed this little tour!
