Here’s a little bit more about me. My name is Samantha Jackson, born and raised in Canada on a 50-acre farm. I met my husband at our church and we now live in Michigan. I was a stay-at-home wife for almost two years and then had my beautiful girls, Amelia (5) and Clara (3). They are now my entire life and purpose, and I am so thankful for the privilege of being able to stay home with them. I love decorating, scrapbooking, cooking, spending time with my family, and most importantly studying the word of God.
What is Simple Nesting?
Simple Nesting, the name of my blog, came about because I believe that “nesting” is something to be appreciated and nurtured. I also believe that it is a command from our Heavenly Father (1 Tim. 5:14, Titus 2). So, if you love decorating, cooking, spending time with family and friends and making your house into a home, then this is the place for you. We all have the ability to make a loving, caring, and inviting atmosphere, which extends not only into decorating our homes in a specific style but also how we live our lives. What we share with others and, more importantly, sharing kindness to our neighbors, friends, and family.
I’ve been “nesting”, if you will, ever since I got married in 2009, almost 9 years now. I have also, always been a “keeper at home”. I never pursued higher education or chasing a career. I believe that working in our homes is a career. And that creating a loving and welcoming place is not complicated, but simple. It doesn’t take much, just some careful thought and a loving touch.
I hope that you will join me on this adventure of nesting our homes. Growing with our families in whatever season of life we all may be in at this time. I hope that this blog will inspire you to make your home a loving environment and a place of refuge for your family.
